Aric Johnson is passionate about second chances and leveling the playing field for people who have experienced trauma. A seasoned and influential leader with experience in both the private and social sectors, Aric advises organizations and communities on how to address trauma and build resiliency, especially among those most impacted by violence. 

Using his personal experiences and research- backed education, Aric guides purpose-driven leaders on how to to wisely design and deliver transformational initiatives with tangible results in a variety of organizations, including hospitals, government agencies, and community-based organizations. 

Previously, Aric was the National Coordinator for Strategic Partnerships at Cure Violence Global (CVG) where he provided hands-on strategic advising to cities implementing Cure Violence's interventions around the world. Prior to CVG, Aric led the start up and implementation of the first Cure Violence Site in the City of Atlanta; advocated for offenders in the Fulton County Office of the Public Defender; and coordinated PIVOT, the first hospital- based violence intervention program at Grady Hospital, one of the nation's best and Atlanta's only Level 1 trauma center. 

Aric holds a BS in Sociology from Georgia State University and a MSW from Kennesaw State University. He is a licensed social worker, certified in anger management and Trauma - Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), and founder of 1-Eighty Counseling and Coaching. A frequent college and university guest lecturer and public speaker, Aric's down-to-earth humor compels audiences to laugh while they learn. In his spare time, Aric enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and two children, coaching youth sports, and cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs.
